Sayeed Seminary School of Cuttack vanquished local favourites DAV School (Chandrashekharpur) by six wickets to win the 4th YMCA State Level Inter-School Cricket Tournament here at the Town Club ground today. Bijay Sahoo, who scored 66 runs for Sayeed Seminary, and his teammate Hanif Mallick bagged the individual awards as man of the match and best batsman respectively.
Anurag Prusty and Ankit Pratap Jena of DAV School were adjudged the best bowler and man of the tournament. Rohit Sagar of Venkateswar EM School claimed the award as best all-rounder. Local MLA Bijay Mohanty gave away the trophy at the closing function. The tournament was organized by Young Men’s Christian Association with the support of Rameswar Sporting Club.
BRIEF SCORE: DAV School 187/5 in 30 overs (Ankit Pratap Jena 76, Pratk Senapati 25) lost to Syed Seminary 190/4 in 24 overs (Bijay Sahoo 66; Anurag Prusty 3/63).
